The Most Epic American Road Trip Summer Camp @ Union Church of Hinsdale
Get ready to embark on the most EPIC American road trip ever in this special RoboThink and Young Achievers collaboration summer camp! Students aged 9 to 14 will work in teams to journey across the USA, in their role as Travel Journalists, to research, explore and ultimately recommend what they think is the most exciting vacation destination in our vast and diverse country. They’ll meet fates along the way that will move them forward or slow them down…! And they’ll be faced with challenges to engineer their way out of sticky situations like building an incline climber robot to scale a mountain range or building a decoy animal to safely navigate a National Park! It’s like Oregon Trail meets the 21st Century!
At the end, they will create a final project (brochure, essay or commercial) and have the opportunity to present their travel recommendation to the Editorial Review Board of their employer, Global Travel magazine! This epic journey will be filled with collaboration, creativity, and learning! From managing a travel budget to creating a billboard to building a robot – every student will walk away inspired!
Skills practiced: geography, math/personal finance, writing, graphic design, robotics, engineering, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, public speaking and MORE!

This unique camp is a collaboration between RoboThink Chicagoland and Young Achievers Learning Academy. Our goal is to create an exciting, engaging, and educational summer camp that will have them raving for weeks about their most EPIC road trip ever!

AGREEMENTS AND POLICIES
ROBOTHINK PHOTO RELEASE AGREEMENT - You will be able to accept or deny this release during registration.
I acknowledge that while my child is attending this RoboThink program, he/she may be photographed by a still or video camera. I authorize RoboThink, LLC. to utilize my child’s photographic image without identification in its brochures and advertisements in any media, including RoboThink’s website. In giving my consent, I hereby release and hold harmless RoboThink and its agents from any and all responsibility or liability relating to the use of the photographs. I understand that neither my child nor I will receive compensation should any photograph authorized hereunder be used.
CANCELLATION POLICY
By registering, you agree to the Cancellation Policy. Cancellations received at least 1 week prior to the start of the camp will receive a refund of the registration fee minus a $5 processing fee. Any cancellations after the 1 week prior to start date will receive a refund of 50% of the registration fee. No refunds will be issued after camp begins. There are no refunds or make-ups for a missed camp day. Thank you for your understanding.
